Wahroonga Waterways Landcare driven by the efforts of volunteers and staff at Adventist Aged Care Wahroonga. We have a wide variety of skills and interests.
Group Coordinator: Jayden Streatfeild
Jayden is an environmental scientist with training in ecology, taxonomy, environmental humanities and outdoor recreation (BSci- Ecology, BA-Env Humanities, Cert III Outdoor Recreation, Honours- Biology). He is the leader of Wahroonga Waterways Landcare. Jayden is responsible for much of the administrative side of the group, including producing online content (this website, the Facebook page, newsletter emails), providing graphic design services (such as the group’s mapping), applying for grants, and developing and managing events.
Project Coordinator: Graham Wegener
Graham was the first Group Administrator and founder of Wahroonga Waterways Landcare and has stayed on as the Project Coordinator. He has a background in landscaping and horticulture (Dip App Sci Hort) and directs on-the-ground rehabilitation works. Graham has a particular passion for providing environmental education to schools.
Nursery Manager: Elissa Avery
Elissa is a bush regenerator with a keen interest in horticulture. Elissa is our head of plant propagation, seed collection and nursery work. She makes sure that we have the required plants for our revegetation works. She is also an active participant in many of our events such as tree planting and clean up days. She has a background in photography and landscape design.
Volunteer Supervisor: Consuelo Gonzalez
Consuelo is a horticulturist (Dip App Sci Hort) who loves working with the community, particularly with children. She co-supervises our volunteers every Tuesday, and regularly assists at our School and National Tree Planting Days and other events.
